The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League ( PNGRFL) today have announced a 29 man train -on squad for the upcoming Pacific Test Match against the Fiji Batis . The squad will be reduced to a final 18 man squad on Sunday 26th April . The squad was put together by PNGRFL Selectors , Kumuls Coach Mal Meninga and Assistant Michael Marum.
The squad is made up of players from the National Rugby League (NRL) and the Intrust Super Cup. UK based PNG players were not named in the team announced today. Should PNG beat Fiji in this test match they will host the winner of Samoa vs Tonga in PNG on October 25. Seems to me that the boys in the Digicel Cup just don't have a chance of being considered for national representative duties...

Why can't we have some players from the Digicel cup also in the team. Defeats the purpose of developing the game at the grass roots level.

It is really unfair when the Digicel Cup players are not mentioned in the PNG Kumuls sites to go against our brothers Bati...Please always make a fair and right decision all the time so that it will bring benefit to this IMMATURE NATION...

It would be fair and better if, some Digicel Stars are also named in the 2015 Kumuls squad to play the Bati's. It sounds USELESS when the SP Hunters are dominating the Kumuls squad to play the Fijians... This team needs adjustments... Concern Papua New Guinean..

Sorry, can no longer support the Kumuls, when guys like David Mead can pick and choose in the media; who they want to play for.
