Chairman of the PNGRFL Mr. Don Fox announced yesterday to attendees at the AGM meeting held in Lae that he would be stepping down as Chairman at the end of this year – effective as from the 31st December 2013.
In Mr. Fox’s Statement he said he felt it was the right time to hand over the reigns to a younger and energetic man to see the PNGRFL through to the next stage of its recovery in what he believes is a bright future for the organisation. Mr. Fox firmly believes Deputy Chairman Sandis Tsaka is the right man for the job. As the current Deputy Chairman of the PNGRFL Mr. Sandis Tsaka will take over as Chairman from outgoing Chairman Don Fox on the 1st January 2014 as per the Constitution. Mr. Fox will remain as a Board member of the PNGRFL as per the current directors wishes and rights in line with the constitution. Mr. Fox said he felt it was the decent thing to do and respectful to inform the League Presidents at the AGM meeting before informing the media. Mr. Fox said he was very proud of the achievements of the new board of the PNGRFL in such a short space of time and believes the game is back on track and heading in the right direction and is confident the organization is in good hands. The Presidents present paid tribute to Mr. Fox and recognized the calming influence he has had during the regeneration of the Governing body through an extremely demanding and stressful period in the game. Mr. Tsaka also warmly recognized Mr. Fox’s outstanding contribution to the game, particularly during the past 12 months and said he is looking forward to continuing to work with Mr. Fox and the rest of the board and taking on the hard work that is still to be done. The PNGRFL Board announced to the leagues the recent appointment of Reaatau Rau as the Company Secretary & Financial Controller for all PNGRFL entities including the Governing body, Team Kumul and the new QLD Cup franchise. The PNGRFL Board also wished to clarify that the PNGRFL Board and not the leagues, again as per the constitution, appoint the PNGRFL CEO position. Comments are closed.
