HELA WIGMAN RETURNS TO DIGICEL CUP

The newly established Hela Province now has a Team, the Hela Wigman in the 2013 Digicel Cup.


Hela Provincial Representative and followers of Rugby league in Hela Province met with their Governor and Patron of the Team Anderson Agiru for the announcement of the Hela Wigman into this year’s Digicel Cup competition.

Chairman for the PNG National Rugby league committee Sudir Guru had doubts about the team’s return but was impressed with their time and effort into winning the bid.

A businessman from Southern Highlands, Firman Joseph of the Kemele Constructions had come on board to support the Hela Wigman.

The forty men team is now in Mendi and will go into its trials over the weekend for the top twenty five men squad to participate in the forthcoming Digicel Cup competition.
