The past, present and the future Kumuls players have and will always play football with pride and passion. What PNGRL need is a better management structure. Our players need to be managed by a structure that actually has a direction. Our players are not physically and mentally fit to play major league games. Every local club needs a gym (having big canons does not mean you are physically fit)and certified medical staff. Non of the current players get a psych eveluation after loosing more then one game, big defeat, etc. Players need to have their diet controlled, when they can take alcohol, have a full paid job or something along the lines of employment towards the end of their career. THE kumuls need to play for 80mins non stop. These are human beings putting their bodies on the line for our country. We are not ready for NRL. PNGRL needs to have all the facilities for a football team before even looking at starting an NRL bid. For NRL, the players are more or less employed by the teams and they basically train the whole week, we need that to happen in PNGRL if we are to measure up with Aussie teams.
It all needs to start from the top of the PNGRL management as that is the part the game that is not seen and rarely taken into account. We need an actual business manager to run the orginasition that way it should and give the guys running the ball on the field to do what they do best.....only then can we beat overseas teams. We have the passion and the manpower.
Its always gives me pride to see the boys out in the BLACK,RED AND GOLD...... Mankik
