PNG Rugby Football League Board has appointed Bob Cutmore as the new chief executive officer for the next three years. Speaking to media this morning, PNRFL chairman Sandis Tsaka said the appointment process was “highly transparent.” He said an independent recruitment firm (JDA Wokman) advertised globally and a total of 64 applicant applied, all overseas based. “The levels of scrutiny (associated with rugby league in the country) have deterred many Papua New Guineans to apply.” The new CEO said “complete review of the 2015 season is my first priority.” He said under his rein will be about setting standard and achieving results. Cutmore last year served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Broncos League Club in Australia and have a long association with the club. He was part of the Kumuls team to the 2000 world cup as the team manager. Cutmore takes over from Shane Morris who served in the acting capacity for the last seven months, after Brad Tassel resigned early this year.
