The TNA Holdings Simbu Lions must lift their performance to save face after an embarrassing start to the Digicel Cup competition this year.
The Lions have acquired a huge 114 points scored against them in just three games while only registering 28 points so far, a performance that has never been seen before in Simbu’s rugby league history. The TNA sponsored team must step up to show cause of their participation in the Digicel Cup this year after its late inclusion. Petroleum Resource Kutubu Mendi Muruks is on the same side with 106 points scored against them while registering only 22 points after three games this year. Lions face Prima Small Goods Gulf Isapeas in Port Moresby while the Muruks host another home game this weekend against the Stop N Shop Port Moresby Vipers who will prove to be a challenge to the players and head coach Julian O’Neill. Something interesting is the Isapeas coaching staff led by head coach Nigel Hukula’s resisting to comment on the player’s preparations as well as the games played on the weekend. Whether it be a secret plan that they do not want to reveal it can’t be certain. But Hukula is a good coach and so the players will and fans alike will have to trust his judgement. Even if it means they are kept in the dark. Meanwhile it is believed Muruks will announce its final 25 men. This weekend’s game will be a crowd pleasing bone breaker and should appeal to fans and critics alike. There will be no bars held when the Lions’ take on the Muruks this weekend for sure.
