Midweek & Sunday Chronicles
By KEVIN TEME The PNG Rugby football League will announce its team Kumuls national development officers and National competition manager today at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby. This was revealed by chairman of the PNGRFL Sandis Tsaka yesterday. Tsaka, a former Spokesman of the Highlands region turned chairman said these positions which will be announced today were advertised in the media two months ago. It is however believed that the recently paid advertisement on the Team Kumuls High performance manager which requires candidates with qualifications with a minimum Level 2 Australian coaching Accreditation (Level 3 preferred), Experience in coaching at QLD/NSW Cup, NRL and International coaching experience, Experience in High Performance Rugby League programs essential, a thorough understanding of latest High performance Coaching and Management, Strong links to International contacts, Rugby League Administrators and Coaches, Strong understanding of English – reading and writing, able to travel regularly in PNG and internationally, Strong computer based skills and understanding and Knowledge of the Internet based so[ware application – “The Rugby Squad” desirable, Strong organizational skills and ability to implement High performance lesson plans and programs in conjunction with Team Kumuls Head Coach and achieve specified targets in relation to weekly, monthly and yearly work plans are the key areas that will be looked at. However many are still wondering why the advertisement was not advertised off shore as many on the social media as well as ordinary PNG say that PNG does not have any candidates that have the requirements to fill in the position. However in a recent respond last night from the PNGRFL acting CEO Brad Tassell to some of the comments made on the social media, he (Tassell) said the press conference tomorrow (today) is to announce 13 development officers, national development managers and the national competition managers’ positions which were advertised couple of months ago. Tassell also confirmed that the current advertisement on the Team Kumuls Ltd high performance manager which has been recently advertised in the local media was also advertised overseas. Tassell made this remarks in the social media after comments were posted on the position advertised. It is however believed that no PNG local leaving offshore or in the country has the qualifications for this position advertised however there are only two PNG candidates who have the qualifications and experience for this position and they are Adrian Lam and Stanley Gene. Lam has all the criteria's required whereas for Gene, he doesn't have NRL or the Queensland Cup experience but has everything else and he is currently the assistant coach at the Hull KR and is also coaching their feeder club, the Gateshead Thunder it is the third tier comp and might not be available. In this case, it may be either to recall Lam or hire an Australian or New Zealander for the position. Meanwhile Tassell said the closing date of the Team Kumuls High Performance manger was on the 19th March this year which is next week Wednesday. Comments are closed.
