OVER the past couple of days, there have been too much criticism in the print and social media after the poor performance by the PM’s XIII team against the Australians in Kokopo last Sunday (Sept 29). What we should all be concentrating on now is to wish our players and the management well in the upcoming World Cup. Most of the players in this year’s team were part of the 2008 RLWC team and the 2010 Four-Nations team and have the experience to see PNG through to the quarter-finals. The team has some of the best talents in the world rugby league. Coupled with the skills and talents of our local boys being sharpened by rugby league legend in Mal Meninga through the various coaching camps, I say the PNG Kumuls will make through to the quarter-finals. From a white Aussie born in Rabaul , PNG , i wish the Kumuls the best of luck and hope you guys make it to the semi finals . You deserve it . For such a strong patriotic nation where RL is religion , we hopefully will be in the top 3/4 teams one day and i guess the ultimate would be to win the World cup one day, even if thats 50 years away . All thats needed is more money to be put into the sport , to improve infrastructure and inclusion in either the QLD Cup and hopefully one day the NRL . Go the Kumuls , from an aussie missing PNG , my birthplace !! Comments are closed.
